i500.

In the early part of the 20th century, Five Hundred was the favorite social game of the United States. It was finally eclipsed by Bridge but is still played worldwide by millions, particularly in Australia. It was devised and introduced in 1904 in the United States. Five Hundred can be thought of as a combination of Euchre and Bridge.

Players around the world play five hundred with their own rules. And as I have discovered individuals play five hundred with their own rules. I am an Australian and the rules of i500 are the rules I have been brought up with. Customs setups can be made to adjust the rules to better match what your used to. I cannot create the options unless you ask for them.

Features:

* Full rules for my brand of Aussie 500.
* Details game stats.
* Full Hand history.
* WiFI/Bluetooth multi player.

Future:

That depends on you!! If there is enough interest I will include:

* Game center leader boards
* and of course suggestions

Pros and cons of i500 app for iPhone and iPad

i500 app good for

Very stable app (no real bugs experienced). Nice graphics. Only, after 180 hands, the other players had neither taken Misère nor No Trumps a single Time. That apart, vert addicting game!!!
Finally a 500 application on the appstore!! Thanks alot guys!! So far nice graphics and animation. Custom playing cards is totaly genius too :D You told us to ask for our own rules so here it is. Here in quebec we have couples other rules: 1. There is a total of 46 cards, adding the two black 4 and an other joker called La Blanche ( the white ). So the middle pack contain 6 cards instead of 3 cards. 2. The white jocker is stronger then the other jocker, during no trump and trump rounds is it played like the other jocker but is still worth more. 3. The game goes from 0 to 1000 instead of -500 to 500 and we start at 0. When a team is not able to win the amount of hands it needed, the points go to the other team. 4. Every players only have one chance to bid or skip. Starting with the guy at the left of the dealer going clockwise and finishing with the dealer. You still must bid higher then the previous bid otherwise you skip. 5. There is something called open misere or petite misere, not sure about the name. It is worth 500 point but is still worth more during bid then 10 hearts. You can only bid double misere if you partner bidded misere during his turn. Both players must lose every hand in order to win and only the guy who bided double misere can see the middle cards. 6. During no trump you can also start a hand with a jocker, but you have to call what type is this card (heart spade etc) and people have to play this type. You cant call a type that have never been used as a starter. So if youve never started a hand with spade, even if someone played a spade because he couldnt play the asked type on an other hand, you cant call spade with a startin jocker. With these rules the lowest WINNING bid is normaly 8 spade or misere... Player generaly call 6 or 7 to announce something to there partner. I think thats about it!!! I would totaly appreciate if you could make those quebec rules especialy the rules 1, 2, 3 and 4! If so, i will recommend this app to all my friends and family and tell them how nice is your team !! :D Other suggestions: add sounds or music or even beter a way to play our own music!
Excellent Game... Love it Also, being from Québec, I would have the same request as NightmareQC.
Great game, and as others have pointed out, nice to finally get a 500 game in the app store! Nice touch to automatically sort the cards by trump when bidding. Close to my ideal 500 game, the now defunct Mac500. ** Request: would it be possible to have a 5 cards kitty instead of 3? This usually speeds up the game.
I agree with nightmareqc this game needs an update so it is closer to the very popular game that is played every year by thousands of French Canadians/ quebecers. I wont repeat all the rules that he mentioned in his earliest post but that is how I was also taught to play. With these updates, Im 100% sure you would get more sales. Where I come from there are tournaments of 500 and people play for hours.
This game is great. I love playing. Can we get the option to have a 5 card kitty. Thats the way we are used to playing in Canada.

Some bad moments

This game on multiplayer shutdown each time I play. Sometime after 2 hands, sometime after 5 hands. The longest game that I played in multiplayer is 6 hands before I lost the connection.. 2.99$ is not big but with this bug, this game need really a update......
So far, 128 wins, 6 losses. Your partner uses up your trump cards even though your opponents have none left. You play a low card so your partner can play a high one and the AI doesnt play it. The 3 other players will often play a high card instead of a low one when they cant beat a player. Buy the game if you dont like to loose. In my book, a waste of money
The more you play the worst your computer partner gets it make bad strategic mistakes. It call high cards such 8 hearts but no aces or joker or even the jacks. I think it calculate on quantity and not on quality,
Game plays for a bit…then…it stops. Tried playing five hands and it froze four times. Game has potential. Please fix!! Dont spend your money until it gets fixed. I will update review at that time.
I love the interface and speed, but the gameplay is suspect. I never lose unless I always play aggressive. Also the computer doesnt know how to bid very well. They will go 6 anything with 4 of a suit and no bowers or the joker
The game itself is really fun, but when playing against computers, everything takes a turn for the worse. Your opponents play horribly, but your partner is even more so. Just hope your partner doesnt bid or prepare to lose. The app occasionally crashes too. Not worth the money until stability is improved and AI gets better.
